Fair Food is Auckland's original food rescue charity, established in 2011 to address hunger and food waste.

Every month, they collect approximately 50.7 tonnes of food destined for landfill from our biggest supermarkets and suppliers. As this precious kai approaches its use-by date, Fair Food volunteers sort, save and send it to community partners to feed New Zealanders in need. Run on the generosity of donors and an incredible volunteer network, the organisation has distributed more than 6.8 million meals to date.

From the stickers found on crates of produce and mass amounts of baked goods through to labels from cans and dairy products - the collaged backgrounds cover
a huge range of food. During the art-working process, volunteers recorded the exact weight of each item, calculating the total mass of rescued food. These staggering figures were then presented through big labels pasted on top, with beautiful typography outlining Fair Food’s purpose.
